Son of Alfred A. Lebel and Marie-Anne Moreau, Louis was born in Saint-Léonard. He was a boarder school student at the Academy of Hôtel-Dieu in Saint-Basile from 1927 to 1929. Louis did his classical studies at the University of Sacré-Coeur in Bathurst and in 1937 obtained a law degree at the University of New Brunswick in St. John. He married Yvonne Roy from Grand-Anse in 1942 and lived in Saint-Quentin. In their family of nine children, the five girls studied at the Academy and College Maillet. Mr. Lebel was named Provincial Judge in 1963. He was very much committed in dossiers on education, health and promotion of the French culture and language. Photo as Bachelor of Arts graduate in 1936.
