Born in St. David, Maine, Paul Dufour was the son of Ubald Dufour and Léa Daigle. He studied at the boarding school in Saint-Basile from 1887 to 1890. Paul was ordained priest in St. John, New Brunswick. Father Dufour had two sisters who were religious at Saint-Basile Convent. Anna, who had taken the name Sister Daigle, was a teacher and Emma, named Sister Mance, worked in several offices, sacristy, boarding school, wardrobe and infirmary. Father Dufour died in Montreal in 1938.
