Cyprien Martin’s house (ph_4030)

Located across from the old church, the house belonging to Cyprien Martin and Marie-Luce Daigle, decorated with a large veranda, was one of the most beautiful houses of the region. There was room enough for Cyprien’s family and visitors. Their daughter Irène, who was a teacher, took the name Sister Ladauversière when she became a nun at the convent of Saint-Basile in 1923 at the age of twenty-nine. She died in 1956, after having taught to the small children nearly all her life, especially in the third grade.
