First row from left to right, Sisters Saint-Alphonse (Mélina Lavoie) and Saint-Antoine (Éva Albert). Second row, Sisters Marie McIntyre, Nadeau (Corinne Michaud) and Marie-du-Sacré-Coeur (Alberte Albert). Mélina Lavoie known as Saint-Alphonse (1901-1982) was born in Saint-Basile and was the daughter of Aimé Lavoie and Élise Martin. In 1931, she entered the convent and worked in the sewing room, the kitchen and mostly in the priests’ department. Éva Albert known as Saint-Antoine (1907-1987) was the daughter of Maxime Albert and Modeste Ouellette from Saint-Hilaire. She entered the convent in 1931, with a teacher’s license from Normal School and a good teaching experience. She directed the choir and was also the organist. She enjoyed dancing and music and played popular and semi-classic music on the piano with great pleasure.
