Félix Verret (1897-1940) (ph_3545)

Son of Joseph Verret and Euphémie Martin, Félix was born in Edmundston. He was a pupil at the boarding school in Saint-Basile from 1905 to 1910. He then studied at Sacred-Heart College in Bathurst and in the Holy Heart Seminary in Halifax. He was ordained priest in Edmundston in 1921. Four years later, he was named parish priest of Saint-André of Madawaska. That’s where he died suddenly in his church at the age of forty-three. He was a nephew of Sister St-Louis (Marie Martin).
