Basilice Caron Morin (ph_503)

The family of Magloire Morin and Basilice Caron lived in Sainte-Rose-du-Dégelis and had six young children when Magloire died. Mrs. Morin came to live in Saint-Basile, where she worked as a shoemaker to support her family. Her eldest daughter named Basilice became an extern Sister at Hôtel-Dieu and took the name Sister Virginie. Sister worked most of her life at the shoemaker shop of the convent and at the sacristy of the parish. Photo in 1885. Art Studio, Demers & Son, 207 Main St. Holyoke, Mass.
