Brickyard of Hôtel-Dieu in 1912 (ph_2702)

The matter of the expropriation of the brickyard land was settled on January 29, 1912 for the sum of $15,000. The brickyard was functioning again in the spring for the making of the bricks needed to construct the chapel and the boarding school. The new architect Héliodore Laberge had been recommended by Mr. Berlinguet. The plans were revised and in 1913, masons and workers were hired. Photo taken in 1912 by Cajétan Poirier, Curate of Saint-Basile.
