Furnace of the bricks (ph_270)

An amazing quantity of bricks was moulded and dried during the summer of 1912. It remained to be cured, as they said then, to burn the bricks. In September and October, Paul Anctil, Armand Anctil and Louis Beaulieu would burn the bricks night and day. Denis Thériault, Théodule Martin, Paul Clavet carried the fire wood. Alfred Thériault, Edouard Pelletier, David Fortin and Jean Cyr helped for several nights. Photo taken in 1912 by Cajétan Poirier, curate of Saint-Basile.
