Hôtel-Dieu seen from the mountain around 1916 (ph_667)

The Hôtel-Dieu of Saint-Basile which was founded more than forty years before has prospered. The Sisters will continue to educate girls and boys, to take care of the sick and perform all necessary work. The Madawaska people now have at their service a good hospital, an orphanage, two renowned boarding schools, houses for retired people and a religious community of Hospitallers.
