Hôtel-Dieu of Saint-Basile (ph_620)

It took four phases of construction before Hôtel-Dieu was complete in 1935. The bricks for this new building was bought. The roof is flat and covered with tar. The structure is made of steel and the floors are made in terrazzo. The new wing housed two floors for the clergy and retired ladies. The Hôtel-Dieu Academy had many classrooms, recreation rooms, dining halls and dormitories for the girls and boys. The boys’ wooden boarding school was demolished in 1936.
