Joseph Guimond was born in Frenchville, Maine, and was the son of Jean-Baptiste Guimond and Euphémie Dupont. This excellent orderly began taking care of the sick at Hôtel-Dieu around 1905. In the Sisters’s annals, it is related that Mr. Madore, his successor, came at Hôtel-Dieu in 1923. In 1925, Mr. Guimond became sick and died on November 18 at Hôtel-Dieu in Saint-Basile.
