Célestin Soucy (1855-1929) (ph_3599)

Son of Alexis Soucy and Marie Luce Paradis of Saint-Basile, Célestin nicknamed Pichenoc, married twice. In 1914, Célestin and his second wife Marguerite Cyr retired at Hôtel-Dieu and gave in return some land in the village and some land in the back roads, low lands by the river, a life insurance of $1200, a lot of shingles, and pine and cedar wood. Célestin and his wife lived for fourteen years in the house Known as Saint-Roch department. Very devoted benefactor, Célestin was a great help to Hôtel-Dieu by firmly collecting sums of money due to the Hôtel-Dieu Sisters.
