Msgr. William Conway (ph_3555)

In 1908, Father Conway was first named administrator and then parish priest of the Immaculate Conception in Edmundston. First he had a presbytery constructed and then the church, which became a Cathedral in 1945. A celebration of his fiftieth anniversary of ordination to the priesthood was organized by the people of his parish in 1958. In recognition for the services rendered to the Church, he was named Honorary Prelate in 1943, then Apostolic Protonotary in 1955. Photo taken in 1945.
