Dora Albert Pelletier (1912-2009) (ph_4049)

Dora was the daughter of Willie Albert and Annie Bernier of Saint-Basile. She was a boarder at Academy of Hôtel-Dieu from 1923 to 1927. Since she had a lovely soprano voice and played the piano, she often had the leading role in theatre plays. She remembers Baetman’s play L’appel de Dieu ou La religieuse missionnaire, where she played with Marie McIntyre. She took part in the play by Jégo, Le Drame du peuple acadien, presented for the celebrations of 1935, using the costumes of the College of Sainte-Anne in Church Point, Nova Scotia. Dora married Alphonse Pelletier, son of Alfred B. Pelletier. Their three daughters studied at the Academy and College Maillet. Mrs. Pelletier retired at Foyer St-Joseph in Saint-Basile and died on June 18, 2009.
