Lucie Virginie Guay, known as Sister Laferre (1855-1884) (ph_3594)

Born in Quebec, Lucie Virginie entered the convent at Saint-Basile in September 1881. The Sisters’ doctor had recommended this community to the parents of the twenty-six years old young woman, a former student of the Ursulines. She became sick and offered her life in sacrifice. Exceptionally, she was allowed to pronounce her vows and died a professed nun. Photo taken around 1880.
