Marie Martin, known as Sister Saint-Louis (1875-1937) (ph_2233)

In 1892, Marie Martin entered the noviciate of the Religious Hospitallers and took the name Saint-Louis de Gonzague, patron saint of the parish priest Louis Napoléon Dugal. For thirty years, she worked at the hospital, sometimes as a pharmacist and sometimes as chief hospitaller. She taught singing to the Sisters and students. Elected Superior in 1931, she was still there when the old wooden hospital was destroyed by fire in 1935.
