Sister Ernestine Dumont (1876-1917) (ph_1153)

Born in Sainte-Louise, Quebec, Ernestine was a boarder at Saint-Basile and later went to Normal School in Fredericton. When she entered the noviciate in 1894, there were only two sisters having teaching diplomas. Sister Dumont was a teacher and worked at the boarding school, but she was also pharmacist for the community for six years and secretary at the chapter meetings for nine years.
