Sister Claudia Lavoie (1887-1979) (ph_3499)

Sister Lavoie taught for numerous years and was school principal. She had all the required diplomas to teach (Grammar School and other). She also had diplomas in typing and penmanship. In 1945, the University of Sacred Heart in Bathurst gave her an honorary Master of Arts degree. Sister Lavoie was assistant and secretary of the community and worked at the admission office of Hôtel-Dieu. She died in her nineties. Photo taken in a classroom of the Academy around 1940.
