Modeste Lavoie, known as Sister Guérin (1884-1972) (ph_1159)

After teaching in Drummond. Powers’ Creek, St-André and Baker Lake, Modeste entered the Saint-Basile convent in 1908. She taught for another twenty-five years and was sacristan for twenty-eight years. She was skilled in making decorations in the Chapel and at the repository of Corpus Christi. Photo taken in the garden of the community around 1930.
