Paul C. Violet’s store (am_2266)

This store that was the property of Paul C. Violet from Sainte-Anne of Madawaska also served as a post office. It was first called Prime Office and later Thériault Office. The train stopped there for freight, passengers and mail. Located in the western part of Sainte-Anne of Madawaska, towards Green River, Violet’s house stood from 1900 to 1935. Photo taken around 1930. Photo borrowed from the centenary album Ste-Anne de Madawaska, 1872-1972, by Alfreda Bérubé, president of the committee, Jacqueline Martin, Claire Sirois and others.
