Parade of floats (am_2038)

During the Marian Congress, in the afternoon of August 15th, seven floats representing the parishes of the diocese having the Blessed Virgin Mary as their patron came in the parade before 600 automobiles. The journey of eight kilometres began at the Cathedral in Edmundston and ended at the Congress site in Saint-Basile. The float of the parish of Grand Falls, which was last, represented Our Lady of the Assumption, whose feast day is on August 15th. Photo taken in 1951. Studio Laporte.
