Closing of the Marian Congress (am_1670)

Sunday afternoon, the day of the Marian Congress closure in Saint-Basile, about 25,000 people gathered for a holy hour of prayers. Young girls dressed in white bring bouquets of flowers to the altar. In the beginning of the evening, an imposing crowd of about 30,000 people participated in the torch procession which left the Sanatorium for the Congress site, almost a kilometre away. The Congress was a great success. Photo taken in 1951. Studio Laporte.
