Fred Violette and Éveline (Lisette) Lavoie (ph_4074)

These newlyweds originally from Madawaska are Fred, son of François Violette, and Éveline Lavoie (1881-1957), daughter of Régis Lavoie and Sophie Thériault. When her brother Dolphis returned to Montana in 1899, Lisette insisted on accompanying him even though she was only eighteen years old. She met Fred and they married in 1902. They had three children: Elder, Edna and Adolphe. Fred owned a ranch, bred animals and cultivated wheat. When her husband died, Éveline went to live in Spokane.
