Alix Godbout (1900-1993) (ph_4057)

Alix was the eldest in the family of Paul Godbout and Paméla Plourde of Drummond. She was very young when she came to the boarding school at Hôtel-Dieu of Saint-Basile. She was a good friend of Madeleine Roy with whom she studied at Normal School of Fredericton in 1918. Alix taught for some years and entered the convent at Saint-Basile in 1921. Madeleine Roy entered six months later. Alix taught the boys for a long time and was the head-mistress of the boys boarding school and then of the girls boarding school. She was also in charge of the novices, Superior and bursar. Photo taken around 1920.
