The business centre of Grand Falls shifted gradually from Front Street to Broadway. At the end of the 19th century, telegraphic post support wires on each side of the wooden sidewalks along the principal boulevard: The Broadway. At the extreme right, a house of which the top floor had served as a school became afterwards a branch of the Royal Bank. On the same side follows the stables of horses for rental belonging to Ted D. Parent, then the Wiley Drugstore, the Curless hotel, Wade Drugstore and the General Store of James McCluskey. Located on the second floor of this store, Victoria Hall was used for concerts, dances and banquets. At the extreme left is John R. Graham’s house. Photo taken in 1900. PB1-10, collection CDEM, ShM.
