Blessing of the corner stone of the second church (am_758)

After the fire of their church the residents of Grand Falls undertook the construction of a stone church. On June the 23, 1907, Bishop Thomas Barry blessed the corner stone assisted by the following priests: L.-N. Dugal, M.-A. O’Keefe, Joyner, E. Martin and L.-O’Leary. It was a big celebration and the former parish priest gave the sermon. When the blessing of the bell took place, Msgr. L.-Dugal gave the sermon in both French and English. Photo taken in 1907.
