Msgr. Bernier’s funeral (am_763)

After an imposing funeral ceremony in the Assumption church of Grand Falls, Msgr. Bernier’s casket is carried to the cemetery escorted by six Knights of Columbus. The church was full for the funeral and the Bishop of Edmundston J. Roméo Gagnon presided over the ceremony. Sister Bernier, a Religious Hospitaller of St. Joseph from Tracadie, came to her brother’s funeral. Photo taken in September 1956.
