The Immaculate Conception Church of Edmundston, future cathedral, possessed a Casavant organ of 45-stop plays and 3000 pipes. The Casavant Company from Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec, did the installations in 1944. Louis-Joseph Lachance, from the province of Quebec, was the first main organ player and choirmaster. He gave piano and organ lessons and also taught at Saint-Louis College. Photo taken around 1945.
